Valentin Stocker (born April 12, 1989 in Basel) is a Swiss international footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Basel in the Swiss Super League.

Stocker came through the ranks at FC Basel and was moved in to the full team ahead of the 2007/08 season after becoming one of the best midfielders in the reserve squad.

He made his European debut for FC Basel in a UEFA Cup tie against Austrian side SV Mattersburg at St. Jakob Park on the 16 August 2007. On the 16 March 2008 he scored his first Super League goal for Basel in a 4-2 loss against FC Sion.

International

Stocker has played international football at various age levels, including Under-19s. He made his debut for Switzerland in Ottmar Hitzfeld's first match as manager, on August 20, 2008 in a 4-1 win over Cyprus at Stade de Genève. He also scored the opening goal of the match.
