From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

VentureNavigator is an online business support service launched in November 2007[1]. The service was created by the Business Edge Consortium comprising 7 UK Universities (University of Essex, University of Cambridge Institute for Manufacturing, University of Leeds, University of Liverpool, The Open University, University of Glasgow, University of Warwick) and a private company (Library House).

VentureNavigator aims to help start-ups and small businesses improve their chances of success. The service is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) via the competitive Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF3). The service is free of charge to end users.

The service has been used by UK national newspaper the Daily Telegraph to support a series of articles on entrprenuership[2]. In 2008 it was highlighted as a best practise case study in a report to The Conservative Party on Small Business and Government[3].
