Viktor Savelyevich Onopko (Russian: Виктор Савельевич Онопко) (born 14 October 1969, in Voroshilovgrad (currently Luhansk), Ukrainian SSR) is a Russian football coach and a former defender, the all-time cap leader for the Russian national team. As of October 2009, he works as an assistant manager with PFC CSKA Moscow. He was a great captain for club and country and a special defender who did so much more than merely defend, which of course, he could do more than capably. Onopko was gifted with such fantastic technique and vision that he was one of the most potent attacking threats to any team he played against.
