Virtua Fighter is a 1993 fighting game played by either two or one player, developed by the Sega studio AM2 , headed by Yu Suzuki, originally producted in Japan. It was the first game in the Virtua Fighter series, and the very first 3D-based fighting game (4D Sports Boxing was released few years earlier, but belongs to slightly different genre). First released as an arcade videogame, it has been ported to several home video game consoles including the Sega Saturn and Sega 32X. A port with enhanced graphics was also released for Microsoft Windows.

In this article we collects not only the original Virtua Fighter quotes but also from sequels.

Virtua Fighter is a 1993 fighting game developed by the Sega-AM2, headed by Yu Suzuki released for arcades and was later ported to the Sega 32X, Sega Saturn and the PC.

The game was one of the first fighting games to take place in 3D. The images were created using wireframes and flat-shaded polygons. The game retained the staple of multiple characters, each with their own distinctive 'moves.' The game is highly regarded for its in-depth fighting engine and real world fighting techniques, and was considered revolutionary when it first appeared.

Simple English

Virtua Fighter was the first 3D fighting video game. The Virtua Fighter game system revolves around three buttons and a directional lever. The buttons are used for Punch, Kick and Guard. The Guard button is used to defend against attacks. Pressing the Guard and Punch buttons at the same time will result in a throw. Throws only work when the opponent is not attacking.

It's like Rock Paper Scissors between Attack, Throw and Guard.
