WIBG-FM (94.3 FM, Wibbage 94.3) is a radio station broadcasting a Oldies music format.[1] Licensed to Avalon, New Jersey, USA. The station is currently owned by WIBG Limited Liability Company and features local programing.[2]

History

The station was assign the call letters WXNJ on 1992-03-27. On 1993-02-03, the station changed its call sign to WWOC, on 2001-03-02 to WWZK, on 2005-02-17 to WILW, and on 2009-08-19 to the current wibg,[3]

The programming is a version of the "Wibbage" format from the legendary Philadelphia AM 990 powerhouse of the 50's, 60's and 70's. WIBG-FM plays rock and roll, along with memorable audio clips from the original Wibbage AM, period commercials, movies and TV shows. WIBG-FM transmits on 94.3 MHz.

The call sign changed in August 2009 from WILW commensurate with a relocation of the transmitter site from Seaville, NJ to Marmora, NJ and doubling of transmission power to 6000 Watts. Construction of the new transmitter was completed in early November 2009. The station coverage then reached both Cape May and Atlantic Counties. Previously the station only had strong signals in Cape May County.
