WJGL (96.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Classic Hits format. Licensed to Jacksonville, Florida, USA, the station serves the Jacksonville area. The station is currently owned by Cox Radio, Inc. and its current line up consists of (AM drive) Chris Rhodes, (midday) Matt Ray, (PM Drive) Michele Michaels. [1]

History

The station went on the air as WAIV-FM on August 15, 1980. On January 1st, 1990, the station changed its call sign to WKQL, and carried an oldies format as "Cool 96.9." In January of 2005, the station flipped to a Classic Hits format (similar to WSRV in Atlanta, heavily based on 1970s rock, with some 1980s songs and a few 1960s songs.[2]
