WJYE is located in the Buffalo, New York area and broadcasts at 96.1 FM. Its transmitter is located in Buffalo.

WJYE signed on in 1966 (As WBNY-FM). It currently is owned by Regent Communications. The station runs a soft rock/adult contemporary format and has had this format since 1988, having previously been a beautiful music/easy listening station. It is occasionally referred to as "Joy 96," for a previous branding (the JY in WJYE stands for the word "joy"), but WJYE no longer uses that branding and avoids doing so (although that may change with the recent change in ownership). WJYE is the Buffalo area home of the Delilah program. Starting in 2007, the station transitioned from its previous soft rock format to a more adult contemporary sound. In recent times, the station played more rhythmic songs like Single Ladies by Beyoncé, but rhythmic songs are still rare on WJYE's playlist.

WJYE switches its format to 100% Christmas music about two weeks before Thanksgiving lasting through December 25.

WJYE began streaming its programming on the Internet in November 2006.

Some of WJYE's radio personalities include CJ and Joe Chille the hosts of the station's morning show, Bob Galli who is the station's afternoon host, Delilah Rene who hosts Delilah After Dark, Mike Riley who is the stations overnight host and Lance Diamond the Love Doctor.
