The station went on the air as WJMK. WJMK was one of the first FM stations to broadcast in stereo. The first studios were located in the owner's garage on Walton Drive in Plainfield, Indiana. Local football and basketball for the towns of Plainfield, Danville, Brownsburg, Avon, and Mooresvlle make this a true local radio station. Many local broadcasters got their first on-air job with the station, with the likes of, Paul Page, Gary Havens, and Steve Miller. On 1980-09-24, the station changed its call sign to WART-FM. On 1980-12-15 to WXIR. On 2003-08-19 to WRDZ-FM.[2]
