WREF (850 AM, "Oldies 850") is a radio station licensed to serve Ridgefield, Connecticut, United States, and its surrounding areas. The station is one of a trio of radio stations owned by Berkshire Broadcasting Corporation. These stations include 800 AM WLAD and 98.3 FM WDAQ. WREF airs an automated, satellite-fed Oldies music format in the form of the ABC Radio Networks syndicated "Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel".[2][3] WREF is the Flagship Station of that format.

Notably, WREF is one of a small handful of Connecticut AM radio stations to continue transmitting in C-QUAM AM-Stereo.

The station has been assigned the WREF call letters by the Federal Communications Commission since January 18, 1984.[1]
