Wendy Grantham (also spelled Wendi Grantham, born c.1968) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as the sweet-natured stripper Shardene Innes in the HBO crime series The Wire.
She is a graduate of Harvard University, where she was a member of the Black Students Association. She was involved in a dispute with Professor Stephan Thernstrom, in which she and other African-American students took him to task for the content of his course "The Peopling of America", accusing him of "racial insensitivity".[1]
