Werner Veigel (November 9, 1928 in The Hague - May 2, 1995 in Hamburg) was a German journalist and news presenter.

After finishing school he began to work in a travel agency. In 1950 he started as a news presenter on Radio Hilversum. In 1954 Veigel began to work as journalist on Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk. Since 1966 he worked for TV news programm Tagesschau on German TV channel ARD. The Tagesschau is both the oldest and the most watched news bulletin on German television.

From 1995 on, Veigel lived openly gay - since 1955 with his partner Carlheinz Faust. Veigel died of a brain tumor in 1995.
