Wesley Lopes da Silva born on 10th November,1980 in Vila Velha,Espírito Santo,Brazil is a Brazilian footballer currently playing for the Romanian Liga I team FC Vaslui. His previous clubs include Suwon, Fortaleza, Penafiel, Deportivo Alavés and Paços Ferreira.

Career

He joined Penafiel who were then playing in the Liga de Honra on 14th August,2003. He scored 9 goals in his first season alongside Roberto who scored 20 goals and Júnior who scored 9 goals. This helped Penafiel top win promotion by finishing in third place. In his second season he was the third top-scorer of the Portuguese Liga. He crossed the border to join La Liga newcomer Deportivo Alavés in August 2005.Welsey returned to Portugal in 2007 joining Paços Ferreira. Wesley has proved himself to be one of the most influential players in the Portuguese Liga. In the 2007/08 season he won the bronze boot scoring 11 goals in the season. Wesley has moved to Leixões for the 2008/09 season and his fantastic form in the early stages of the season which helped take Leixões to first place in the league led to interest from various clubs around the world. On 24th November Wesley announced in a press conference that he would be moving to the Dubai club Al-Wahda at the end of December. In January 2009 he eventually signed for Romanian first division club FC Vaslui, signing a 2 and a half year contract. For the time being is one of the most valuables foreign players in Romania. He also played for Associação Atlética Ponte Preta (1999-2003), a Brazilian club from Campinas.
