West Baltimore Station is a station on the MARC Penn Line located in the western part of Baltimore City along the Amtrak Northeast Corridor. It is located at the intersection of Smallwood and Franklin Streets. Two large surface lots provide parking for patrons utilizing MARC service from the station.
Under current plans, the future Red Line transit line will serve this station. The station currently serves the Penn Line. It has connections with the Route 23 and Route 40 buses.
The station is located at 400 North Smallwood Street in Baltimore, MD, USA.
The route of the Penn Line was first operated in the mid-1800s. It was first operated as the Pennsylvania Line, then Conrail (later renamed to Penn Central). The MARC operation dates from 1983.[1]
In 2009, it was announced that approximately 400 parking spaces east of Pulaski Avenue will be added, but this is a temporary expansion until the 2013 redevelopment.[2]
