Wilhelm Friedrich of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg[1][2] (born 23 August 1891 in Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia[1][2]; died 10 February 1965 in Coburg, Bavaria, West Germany[1][2]) was the Duke of Schleswig-Holstein and Head of the House of Oldenburg from 21 January 1934 until his death on 10 February 1965[1][2]. Wilhelm Friedrich was the only son[1][2] of Friedrich Ferdinand, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein and his wife Princess Karoline Mathilde of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg[1][2].


Marriage and issue

Wilhelm Friedrich married Princess Marie Melita of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Ernst II, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and his wife Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha[1][2], on 5 February 1916 at Coburg[1][2]. Wilhelm Friedrich and Marie Melita had four children[1][2]:
