Windows Journal is a notetaking application, created by Microsoft and included in certain editions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It allows the user to create and organize handwritten notes and drawings. It is also able to simply use an ordinary computer mouse to compose a handwritten note, as well as a graphics tablet or a Tablet PC.



When first introduced, Windows Journal was only included with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Currently, it is also included in the Home Premium and higher editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7.


Windows Journal Viewer is an application, created by Microsoft, that allows for the viewing of files created in Windows Journal on systems without the software. The current version is 1.5 and is available for Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003 and Win7 RC
