Xavier Dolan, sometimes credited as Xavier Dolan-Tadros (born March 20, 1989) is a Canadian actor and filmmaker. Formerly a child actor in films such as J'en suis!, Le Marchand de sable and La Fortresse suspendue and television series such as Omertà, la loi du silence, he attracted international attention when his first film as a director and screenwriter, J'ai tué ma mère, won three awards from the Director's Fortnight program at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.[1]

Dolan says that he will move on to make another movie called Laurence any ways, this time about a transsexual.[2] The script is already written. [3] He met with French businessmen to try to find financing for the next movie. He hopes to start production in fall 2009.[4]

As of September 2009, the Québec-specific French-language dubbed version of the animated series South Park features Dolan as the voice of Stan.[5]

Dolan is openly gay,[6] and has described J'ai tué ma mère as being semi-autobiographical. He is the son of Quebec actor Manuel Tadros.
