Yellowknife Transit is the public transportation agency in the city of Yellowknife, and is the only transit system in Canada's Northwest Territories. There are three regular bus routes which run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. on Saturday, with two express routes which only run during the morning and afternoon peak hour. There is no service on Sunday or statutory holidays.[1] The municipally funded and controlled system has been operated by private contractors since 1999.[2]
