Early Life & Career

Young Cartoon had always rapped for fun and boasting rights with his cousins Sedy Sed and Kellz Ozbourne and in local hangouts before going home where listening to anything other than Gospel music was forbidden. A few years following his parents’ divorce, Young Cartoon left home when he was a teenager to break free from his father’s strict parenting. Later, he decided to enter Job Corps.

“Although I love all kinds of music, Gospel didn’t make sense to me at the time. It didn’t reflect what I was seeing on the streets and in the faces of the gangsters in my neighborhood.” – Young Cartoon

Music career

Under Job Corps training, he had an epiphany about his parents' work ethics and what they instilled in him. It was then that he decided to utilize his gift for writing and turned it into a career. He opened up a studio just to have fun with his friends and cousins; however, it was during one of these sessions that DJ Rhymer, formal DJ of the group Pretty Ricky. would be present and convince Young Cartoon and his cousins to start a rap group. They branded themselves Young TKS.

The group found instant success with their mixtape, “We Out Chea vol. 1” and began performing throughout the south with DJ Rhymer. Maturing into men, the threesome started taking on different life roles and with the influence of Rhymer, Young TKS parted ways before achieving elevated success.

In March 2009, Young Cartoon released his first solo mixtape Chill Out vol. 1 Hood Famous hosted by DJ Rhymer. It was made available via a link on his official [MySpace][2] page to [Datpiff.com][3]. The 23 track disc includes singles: “Shawty What’s Your Name” and “She Got Me (Remix),” produced by D’Notes, “Shawty Im,” produced by GMC and “Wham,” produced by Gorilla Tech. It also has lyrical features from DJ Rhymer, Cutterman, Iceberg, Whiteboy & YS.

Entrepreneurship

Young Cartoon is a well known entrepreneur in the state of Florida. In 2007 he started his own company Scooter Entertainment with DJ Rhymer as a promotional team. Along with street promotions they are club promoters, and own and operate their radio station, 95.3 FM in Miami. They reach out to teens and offer them jobs with Scooter Entertainment to give them a sense of belonging and keep them off the streets.
