Jive Label Group is a music group which forms one half of the RCA/Jive Label Group, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Jive Label Group was founded in 2004 as Zomba Label Group by BMG, their parent company at the time. In January 2009. BMG sold their half of the Sony BMG merger to Sony and Zomba Label Group was rebranded to the current Jive Label Group.[1][2]

The RCA/Jive Label Group division consists of several flagship records labels, which originally formed part of BMG, and were absorbed by Sony after Sony's 2008 buyout of Bertelsmann's 50% stake in the Sony BMG joint venture. Sony reverted back to Sony Music Entertainment and restructured its operations, leading to the consolidation of BMG labels into a single division called RCA/Jive Label Group. Earlier that year Barry Weiss was named CEO of BMG Label Group, which consisted of RCA Music Group and Zomba Label Group, replacing Clive Davis who was the Chief Creative Officer. Upon BMG being fully incorporated into Sony, the BMG Label Group division was reorganized, restructured and renamed to RCA/Jive Label Group. Barry Weiss continued to serve as CEO of the now RCA/Jive Label Group.
